The second Biennial event of Chianciano Terme will take place in Chianciano Terme, by Siena, inside the Art Museum from 17th to 24th September, 2011. You can visit different exhibitions: from Asian art to contemporary art, works by Tiepolo, Guercino, Guttuso, Magritte and Much, and some works coming from royal collections, aqua forte paintings and engravings by famous artists like Dürer.
The first Biennial had a huge success of public and critics, with more than 160 artists from all over the world; this second year is going to be full of new surprises.
The Biennial exhibition will offer many side events: concerts, meetings, conferences, charity auctions and new projects are organized during the whole week by the artists. The talent of these contemporary artists will meet the historical talent of Jacopo Negretti aka "Palma Il Giovane" (1548-1628). The famous portrait of Pope Pio V will be showed at the thermal baths in Chianciano during the event, this marks the return of the picture to Italy after 200 years, and now past and present can meet again, until 24th September, when the event will be over.
Four art installations will be realized too, with original works by Luca Giordano, Salvador Dalì, Andy Warhol and Rembrandt.
Visitors and artists can get to know a beautiful region, full of art, history and traditions: the Biennial will transform Chianciano into a meeting point of different cultures, where artists, curators, art dealers can exchange their ideas, immerged in the magic of Tuscany.
