2012 Festa del Barbarossa (Feast of the Barbarossa), 52nd edition

From June 13th to 17th, 2012 you can join the medieval festival celebrating the meeting between the Emperor Barbarossa and the ambassadors of Pope Adrian IV, which took place in 1155 in San Quirico d'Orcia.

The centre of this beautiful medieval town, San Quirico d'Orcia, is divided into the 4 districts which characterized the medieval town: Borgo, Castello, Prato and Canneti. The play reenacting the historical meeting is very evocative, even because it is set in the most suggestive streets and squares of the town, including the churchyard of the Collegiata. The four "rioni" will stage some medieval habits, while bowmen will challenge each other. Furthermore, you can try the best food prepared in the four inns and taverns belonging to each district.
